Now more than ever is the time to enjoy a picnic with loved ones! Not only is it National Picnic Week but right now, a socially distanced meet up in a park or garden is the safest way to see friends and family.
While the unpredictable Yorkshire weather leaves us guessing, this week is the time to get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoors… rain or shine!
We have a brilliant Solo Picnic Selection available to order online and with a Slingsby tote and branded glass, it is perfectly portable and comes with four different Solo bottles to enjoy on your outing.
Our premixed G&Ts, Solo, can simply be enjoyed straight from the bottle and are best served chilled and over ice. But you can also make your very own Solo cocktails and here are some of our suggestions to really step up your picnic game…
Yorkshire Rhubarb Gin & Elderflower Tonic Solo – simply pour over ice and garnish with raspberries or serve with additional pink grapefruit juice and grapefruit slice garnish
London Dry Gin & Premium Tonic Solo – to recreate our classic London Dry signature serve, simply serve over ice and garnish with blueberries and a grapefruit peel. You could also try adding a splash of elderflower cordial
Marmalade Gin & Mediterranean Tonic Solo – for a delicious spritz, add a dash of apricot brandy or liqueur, squeeze of lime juice and drop of sugar syrup. Garnish with mint and an orange slice
Gooseberry Gin & Mediterranean Tonic Solo – try mixing with cloudy apple juice, a drop of sugar syrup and add mint leaves for a refreshing springtime tipple
Now that’s the drinks sorted but what about the snacks? Don’t worry, we’ve found some brilliant picnic recipes for you to try too…
Delicious Magazine is our go-to for food inspiration and they have you covered for all your savoury picnic needs from scotch eggs, to pork pies and cheese scones. And of course, all good picnics need some pastry deliciousness to start so we’ve found this tasty (and easy!) sausage roll recipe to try.
Bettys Pink Grapefruit Slices (made with Slingsby Gin!)
We all know no picnic is complete without a delicious dessert and our good friends at Bettys are the experts at indulgent sweet treats. With this tasty little loaf cake recipe, they have used our classic London Dry Gin - perfect to pack up and include in your picnic hamper we say!
