It's always fun at Ascot!
Earlier this year, we announced the exciting news that Slingsby Gin is the new official gin of Ascot Racecourse which is something all of Team Slingsby and incredibly proud of. This means that our award-winning range of gins will be served across all bars at the race meets held at the world-famous racecourse including the most anticipated meet of the year, Royal Ascot.
Royal Ascot took place last month and it was so much fun, and with that over it meant that the next big racing event was the QIPCO King George Diamond Weekend. It all kicked off last Friday (22nd July), and on this racing weekend, racegoers could enjoy Slingsby Gin from the bars AND for the first time ever, places their bets in our very own race, the 'Slingsby Gin Handicap Stakes'!
10 wonderful horses ran in the Slingsby race, but it was the perfectly-named 'Awesome Dancer' that took the winning spot as the jockey, Pat Cosgrave, brought the horse from last to first place on the home straight! It was a brilliant race, and you can watch the full 2 minutes on Twitter. Yet again, our time at Ascot was nothing short of wonderful and it was an amazing day.
If you haven't yet visited Ascot Racecourse, we highly recommend getting some tickets for the next big racing event, the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup in August! It's a great occasion to get together with friends and family, dress up and enjoy some delicious G&Ts or refreshingly good gin cocktails. Cheers!
