Warm Cocktails for Winter
Once the clocks go back and Halloween is over, we go into full winter mode. Whilst the shorter days and frozen cars aren't ideal, one thing that we do look forward to every year is a delicious warm drink. For us, nothing beats settling down on the sofa after a long day with a comforting Slingsby gin cocktail...
Our Marmalade gin is perfect at this time of year but we have created an amazing warming Blackberry cocktail too...
Mulledberry Gin
35ml Slingsby Blackberry Gin
50ml Port
100ml Apple Juice
10ml Sugar Syrup
Sliced Orange
2 Cloves
1 Small Cinnamon Stick
INSTRUCTIONS: Gently heat all of the ingredients to simmer. Once done, serve warm in a latte glass or mug and garnish with an orange slice.
Mulled Marmalade
25ml Slingsby Marmalade Gin
70ml Quality Cider
20ml Lemon Juice
Cinnamon Stick
Cloves
Nutmeg
Star Anise
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine all ingredients into a glass and top up with boiled water. To create a batch, combine ingredients into a ban, add water and heat until the desired flavour is reached. Garnish with an orange wheel.
Ginuary
25ml Slingsby Marmalade Gin
50ml Spiced Cranberry Reduction
15ml Sugar Syrup
1 Dash of Angostura Bitters
Top with Hot Water
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine all of the ingredients in a glass and enjoy!
To make the spiced cranberry reduction, add a carton of cranberry juice to a saucepan and reduce in volume by two thirds over a medium heat. Add your desired winter spices and add them to the pan while it’s on the heat. We recommend cinnamon sticks, cloves and orange peel.
